Organized Toy Closet

At the end of my last post, I left you a messy picture of my front entry and mentioned that I have been using some of my new free time to whip my house back in to shape.  I still have a long way to go, but today, I am sharing with you my organized toy closet.

I didn't take a before picture, but I did snap this one mid-mess during my organizing session.  As you can see, this closet is in my entry.  This is also right off my family room, which is the place where my kids play the most.  When we were building, I decided that I wanted to make this closet a toy closet rather than a coat closet because we have a mudroom where our family hangs our coats and jackets, and if we ever have guests, we can hang their coats on the hook shelf there in the entry.  Because of its location, this was the perfect place to store the kids toys.

After about an hour and a half of reorganizing, and purging what my kids aren't playing with anymore, this is what the toy closet looks like now.  I realize that I don't have matching bins and baskets and this really isn't pinterest worthy, but it works, and I didn't have to spend any money getting it to this point.

Games and toy sets are on the top two shelves.

While trains, cars, and blocks are on the bottom.

It is driving me crazy that these pictures are so blurry, but I didn't take the time to get my tripod out.  I just wanted to snap these quickly in order to share them and move onto the next project.

Here are a couple of final, but blurry, looks at the newly organized toy closet.
