Quick Hot Chicken Sandwiches

Do you need to get dinner on the table in a hurry?  These quick Hot Chicken Sandwiches are easy, tasty, and will get your family fed in almost no-time.

I often forget about these simple and unassuming little sandwiches, but my husband and boys love them. So, they tend to remind me to make them sometimes if it has been awhile since these sandwiches have made an appearance at our house.

Now just to be clear - when I say these chicken sandwiches are hot, I mean temperature wise - they are baked and served hot.  They are not spicy at all.  But I imagine if you wanted them spicy you could spice up the shredded chicken with some hot sauce or chili flakes.  In fact, as I am typing this, I am thinking my husband and a few of my boys might like these sandwiches even better if I spiced them up like that.  I may have to give that a try in the near future.

To make these fast and easy sandwiches, simply combine together: shredded chicken, sour cream, mayo, green onions, grated cheese, and garlic powder.

Slice a loaf of French bread in half lengthwise.

Then spread the filling on top of the two halves of the French bread.

Bake until bubbly, melty, and golden!  Yum!

Let cool just a bit. (These come out of the oven piping hot!)

Cut into sandwich-sized pieces, serve with some fresh fruit or a simple salad, and you have yourself one quick and yummy dinner.
