PB&J Protein Smoothie - without protein powder
This PB&J Protein Smoothie! Oh my goodness! I am addicted. Every morning I wake up craving this amazingly creamy and yummy smoothie! It is packed with protein and fiber, as well as fruits and veggies! To me, it is the perfect, and healthy way to start your day.
And a bonus for all those who are like me and don't really like protein powder - - this smoothie packs about 35 grams of protein with nary a scoop of protein powder in sight! It also boasts approximately 15 grams of fiber!
I use a triple berry blend of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries in this smoothie, as well as fresh baby spinach, organic peanut butter powder, and organic flaxseed meal.
I also almost always make this with my homemade Greek yogurt, but cottage cheese may be used as well.
I add Power Beets to this smoothie. And, yes, they are an absolute must! Not only are they super good for you (as far as I can tell - I'm not a nutritionist), but they also add a little bit more sweetness to the smoothie. I think it might be a little too tart without them.

And while I am leaving links, I want to mention that for years, I used a cheap standard blender. I wanted a high powered blender badly, but couldn't bring myself to fork out the hundreds of dollars to buy one. I finally compromised and bought a ninja duo a month ago, and I have been sooooo happy with it. So if you are interested in upgrading your standard blender, but not ready to go quite as high end as the really expensive ones, I recommend the Ninja. This is the one I purchased, and so far I love it!
