Peanut Butter Blossoms

Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

I am sharing my recipe for one of my favorite cookies today.  These Peanut Butter Blossoms are a little old fashioned, but in the greatest way.  I love eating them slightly warm when I can still spread that melty chocolate kiss all over the peanut butter cookie, but they are also delicious cooled when you get one or two delicious bites of delicious peanut butter cookie and intense chocolate kiss.

The peanut butter cookie portion is slightly subtle on the peanut butter flavor.  I have also made these little beauties using my Peanut Butter Criss-Cross cookie recipe as the base.  They have a more intense peanut-butter flavor and the cookies work out just as beautifully.  The only thing to do differently is instead of putting the criss cross pattern in before baking, just leave them in balls, and then follow the tutorial  that is found below this recipe.

If you are going to be giving these away, make sure you make them in plenty of time to cool.  In my experience it takes several hours for the chocolate kiss to set up again after baking.

If you are a fan of chocolate and peanut butter, give these a try.  I think you will be very happy!!

Now for a few tips . . .

To form the balls of dough, I use my 1 tablespoon scoop to portion the dough, so they all end up the same size, and then roll them into balls.

When they first come out of the oven they look like this.

Press the chocolate kisses into the cookies, so they look about like this - then return them to the oven.

When you remove them from the oven after the second bake, they look like this.  Perfection!!!

And just because I love these cookies so much, I am sharing a couple more beauty shots of these babies.
