Hugs and Kisses Quilt
Remember the pink project I promised to share soon? Well, this is it. A very pink quilt for Valentine's Day.
I had decided earlier, that this year I would like to use up a lot of my scraps and stashed fabric that has been sitting around before I buy anything new. When I got looking through what I had, I noticed I had quite a bit of pink and decided that if I am ever going to have an excuse to make a pink quilt - a valentine quilt would be it. And, since we don't do any decorating for Valentine's Day at our boy-filled house, I figure a little quilt in honor of the holiday was definitely in order.
So, with the rationalization out of the way, I decided to use this quilt as inspiration. (click on the link for a good and easy tutorial on how to make this quilt.) Originally, I did not want to put borders on the quilt, but I didn't have enough pink and red fabric to make it large enough to be throw size, so I added some white borders with a little scrappy border in-between.
I quilted it with a soft zig zag stitch on my machine and I really like how the quilting turned out. I think the quilt is cute - a little too pink for me - but for a quilt that will only be out for about one month of the year, it will be a nice change.
