Quick and Easy Sloppy Joes
These quick and easy Sloppy Joes are my favorite Sloppy Joes e-v-e-r. I know that there are a lot of recipes for Sloppy Joes out there, but I love these. They are the ones that my mom made for us when we were growing up, and we always loved it when they were on the menu. Now, admittedly, Sloppy Joes are not the most sophisticated food, but this isn't that kind of blog. I love approachable, family-friendly food, and these definitely fit the bill.
I know some readers will not love the fact that there are some processed ingredients in these, but when it comes to these Sloppy Joes, I don't care. This recipe is a great one to have in your back pocket for those busy nights, or the ones that you haven't planned ahead very well and all the sudden dinner is upon you. They are fast, easy (only 3 ingredients), and so good!
Simply, season and brown your hamburger, add a can of condensed french onion soup and let it simmer together until the liquid has reduced and thickened a bit, then add ketchup to taste. Seriously - - so so easy.
You can serve them on hamburger buns or your favorite roll. You could even make cute little sliders. I love to serve them on french bread rolls.
Pair them with a salad or some veggies and dip and dinner can be on the table in no time.
We also love to take these out for Picnics. Simply make the Sloppy Joe Filling, transfer it to a slow-cooker, and let it get nice and hot, then clamp the lid on the slow cooker and take it with you to your picnic for a nice hot lunch or dinner al-fresco. When we do this I always wrap the slow cooker in a towel and place it in a box, to make sure it stays warm, to make transport easier, and to guard against any spills.
